Pamela Anderson is a Canadian American actress, model, producer, author, activist, and former showgirl.
She is well known for her roles on the television series Home Improvement, VIP and as C.J. Parker in Baywatch, a role she played between 1992 and 1998.
During that time she was cast in her first starring role in ‘Good Cop, Bad Cop’. She co-starred with Stacy Keach, David Keith and Robert Hays. The film won a Bronze Award at the Worldfest-Charleston. Since then she has built a successful acting career.
In 2004 she released the book Star about a teenager trying to become famous. Her second book, the sequel Star Struck, is a look at the trials of celebrity life.
In 2006 Pamela got a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame for her many years as a model and actress.
Pamela is a vegan, an advocate for animal rights, and an active member of the animal protection organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). She has taken part in several campaigns for animal rights. In 1999, she received the first Linda McCartney Memorial Award for animal rights protectors, in recognition of her campaign against the use of fur.
In March 2005, Pamela became a spokesperson for MAC Cosmetics’s MAC AIDS Fund, and became the celebrity spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation.
In 2011, Pamela launched FrogAds.com; a new online social media platform which offers a free global market place for classifieds and auctions. The site then went live in December 2011 and has had 1.5 million postings since then.
Pamela also became the official spokesperson for BamPoker, which launched in 2012. The Facebook app boasts thrilling game play, a leading-edge online community and users can play Texas Hold’em poker with Pamela herself. Her role as spokesperson and creative consultant sees her as an active member of the BamPoker community where she maintains a fan page, plays poker and then periodically chats with members.
